AeroOne™ Newsletter

October 2024

Message From Our President

Dear Aeros:

Two weeks ago AeroOne was privileged to be invited to co-sponsor the 2024 annual National Index Forum in Louisville, Kentucky. Our presentation video is attached below for your enjoyment. We showcased our light, medium and heavy jet recommendations (on display), aircraft management, pricing and, of course, our expertise in interior and paint design and installation. Attendees included investment banks such as Goldman Sachs and UBS as well as a number of Independent Marketing Organizations ("IMOs"). During the event two IMOs expressed interest in purchasing aircraft from us and having AeroOne manage them at two bases in the US Midwest. Both organizations have agents requiring airlift 7 to 8 times each month. Their goal is to make these trips more time efficient while staying within budget. AeroOne brings to the table a competitive pricing model along with a highly experienced management partner. We are on it.

Practicing what we preach, the Genex and AeroOne teams travelled to 8 cities in 8 days conducting various meetings and business, criss-crossing Canada and the US. For example, on Friday we started off with breakfast with two clients in Louisville, KY, then east for a lunch meeting in Allentown, PA, made a u-turn west for dinner with our lawyers in Tulsa OK, and finally onto Vegas for some weekend fun. Try doing that on the airlines? For context there are no direct flights from Louisville to Allentown. American services the region. It's a 2.2 hour flight to Philadelphia and then, get this, a 1.5 hour bus ride courtesy of American Airlines from Philly to final destination. The bus journey is actually itemized as a leg on one's boarding pass. Total time = an eternity. We did it in 1.4 hours door to door, with dignity in tact. (More on airline pullback from secondary markets in a later edition.)

What is noteworthy during this trip was the increased presence of private aircraft at FBOs. We expected heavy traffic at Las Vegas but were surprised at how crowded the ramp was in Louisville. One piece of advice, Jet A prices can vary greatly from one airport to another, even among FBOs at the same airport. Our Flight Ops diverted us to RVS South Tulsa instead of TUL so we could fill up with $2.75 per gallon fuel. That's 90 cents a litre Cdn. (AeroOne enjoys a fleet volume fuel discount through pricing forward contracts.) At 190 gl/hour fuel burn rate we saved over $1,700.00 on the Vegas leg alone. More money to "invest" at the casinos!

Enjoy the latest Market Report and analysis, to be distributed by separate email today. As always, if you have questions or suggestions please give us a call.

Happy Flying,
Roger Proctor, CEO

P.S While AeroOne recommends Bombardier aircraft because of their overall reliability, we operate Cessnas, Hawkers, and other makes and models as well.
PPS  Hawker 800 and 900s are excellent in reliability but heavy on maintenance costs unless you fly more than 600 hours a year.
